Warehouses
Set up and manage warehouses for inventory storage and tracking.
Warehouses
Warehouses represent physical or logical locations where your inventory is stored. Every stock movement in Neriyam is associated with a warehouse.
Warehouse Types#
- Physical Warehouse — an actual storage location (factory floor, store room, dispatch area)
- Virtual Warehouse — a logical grouping used for tracking purposes (e.g., "Customer Material", "Rejected Stock")
Default Warehouse#
Each tenant has one default warehouse. This warehouse is pre-selected in stock entry forms and cannot be deleted.
The default warehouse is created automatically when your organization is set up. You can rename it but cannot remove the default designation.
Creating a Warehouse#
- Navigate to Inventory > Warehouses
- Click + New Warehouse
- Fill in the required fields:
- Warehouse Code — a short unique identifier (e.g., WH-MAIN, WH-STORE)
- Warehouse Name — descriptive name
- Location — the physical location this warehouse belongs to
Use a consistent naming convention for warehouse codes. For example, prefix with the location code: CHN-MAIN for Chennai Main Warehouse, BLR-STORE for Bangalore Store Room.
Warehouse and Locations#
Warehouses belong to Locations (configured in Settings). A location represents a physical site — a factory, office, or branch. Each location can have multiple warehouses.
Stock Tracking#
Stock levels are tracked per item per warehouse. You can view:
- Current stock for each warehouse on the item detail page
- Stock movements in the Stock Ledger, filtered by warehouse
- Warehouse-wise summary across all items
Deactivating a warehouse is only possible when it has zero stock for all items. Transfer or adjust stock before deactivating.
